Reducing Your Agency's Footprint - Sustainable Government Workshops
Government agencies have an important role to play, leading the way and driving the transition to a sustainable future.
On 4th April 2006 the Department of Environment held a workshop entitled ‘Reducing your Agency';s Footprint’. The workshop looked at embracing sustainability in government operations, with a focus on waste management.
The Sustainability Code of Practice, outlined in the State Sustainability Strategy, asks agencies to make their day-to-day activities more sustainable and make commitments in relation to energy, travel, water, waste and other areas.
The workshop provided practical advice on how to meet the waste management commitments within the Code of Practice, showcasing successful agencies who have achieved excellent outcomes, and offered an opportunity for feedback and networking.
