Prevention
What does it mean?
Waste prevention is the avoidance of waste creation. By preventing the creation of waste we are intervening at the source of the problem. Greater focus on waste prevention is needed if we are to move toward a zero waste society, however we still need to maintain a focus on the recovery of resources and safe disposal of wastes.
The Waste Management Board is developing programs that encourage greater focus on the prevention of wastes.
