Policy & Evaluation
The Waste Authority, appointed under part 2 of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007, will be responsible for developing a Waste Strategy for the whole of Western Australia. Past strategies and policies have been based on the Strategic Direction for Waste Management in Western Australia, published in 2004. Statement of Strategic Direction for Waste Management in Western Australia 2004/2005 Priorities
Highlights priority waste products for the 2004/05 year. These focus areas are where there are waste products accumulating, which are not being prevented, which have few options for recovery, which are potentially harmful to the environment on disposal and therefore require action.
