What are Recycled Organics?

Recycled organics include a wide range of products manufactured from compostable organic materials such as ‘green’ waste from parks, gardens and orchards, residues from food production and consumption, residual wood and timber, biosolids from wastewater treatment plants and manures and other residues from agricultural activities.

    Products manufactured from these materials include:
  • Mulches, including pasteurised mulches and fine pasteurised mulches
  • Composts, including composted mulch and composted fine mulch
  • Composted soil conditioners
  • Vermicast / compost tea
    These products are manufactured using a variety of processes, including:
  • Windrow composting techniques
  • Anaerobic digestion techniques
  • Worm farming (vermicultural) techniques
