Extension approved for Regional Funding Program RIP Expenditure deadline.
In 2009 the Waste Authority piloted the Zero Waste Plan Development Scheme, providing funding to support the implementation of priority projects identified within regional Strategic Waste Management Plans. This Program involved the development of Regional Investment Plans (RIP) and all funding granted under this Program was to have been expended by the end of the 2009 calendar year.
At its meeting of Wednesday, 2 December, the Waste Authority made a decision to extend the deadline for the expenditure of Regional Investment Plan funds. In accordance with this decision, all Waste Authority funds allocated to approved RIPs, must be committed for expenditure by 31 March 2010.
